Honda Pilot 2011 Reveiw

The driver is only offered by Honda in three rows, 8 passenger SUV segment. It is powered by a 250-hp, 3.5-liter V-6, and is available in front and four-wheel drive. Four qualities of the driver is available from a base LX to tour at full load, which adds luxury features like a power seats, rear lift and sunroof. All grades come with power windows and door locks, remote keyless entry, lift-up hatch glass, and a tilt and telescopic steering wheel. Begins navigation on the vacant EX grade.

Front and rear independent suspension and a rigid steel unibody high strength for the great majority give the driver a lively road performance and responsive. Inside, the driver is at the top of his class in the interior volume useful. Split folding second row seats and the third provides passenger and cargo carrying various configurations. Twelve-volt adapter to the front, the middle row and the bunker are available for all models. Fuel economy is not great, but is acceptable when the driver's other assets are taken into account .... What's new?

The new second generation Pilot made its debut in 2009 and remains unchanged for the 2011 model year with the exception of the extended availability of Honda's satellite navigation system is the EX-L.

Outside

All models come with the autopilot on / off halogen headlights, fenders and rear privacy glass. EX and Touring models get roof rails, alloy wheels, fog lamps, mirrors and door handles in body color with doors turn signal duplicators.

Inside

Ergonomics are generally good, except the button on the folly of the center console. Storage options and an impressive interior volume (87 cubic feet with second and third row folded). Rear entertainment system is optional on all models.

Performance and handling

Pilot offers a powertrain: a 250-horsepower 3.5-liter V-6 linked to a 5-speed automatic transmission (which is not competitive against a field of mostly 6-speed). Drive configurations in the front and four-wheel drive is available for all models. Independent suspension and unibody construction means that the driver has a driving experience to be commended for standing firm. The maximum towing capacity of 4500 pounds for the AWD version is correct.

Security

Three point seat belts are standard for all passengers, as is traction / stability control. Outboard passengers have side curtain airbags, while side airbags driver and front passenger, two-story front.
