In 2011, the R-Class is a 4-door, up to 7 passenger luxury sport utility, available in two versions, the R350 4MATIC and R350 BlueTEC 4MATIC.

After the introduction, R350 4MATIC is equipped with a V6 3.5-liter, 268 horsepower engine that achieves 15 mpg in the city and 19 mpg highway. R350 BlueTEC 4MATIC is equipped with a standard 3.0-liter V6, 210 horsepower, turbocharged, diesel engine, which gets 18 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway. A 7-speed automatic overdrive is standard on both trim.
